Description
History remembers Rudolf Steiner as a visionary, the founder of the Waldorf schools and a pioneer of anthroposophy. But who was the woman behind him—one whose name is barely known today, yet whose influence shaped his work in ways we are only beginning to understand?
Under the artistic direction of René Harder, students of the performART program bring to life excerpts from the unpublished screenplay “Rudolf Steiner and the Woman Who Invented Him.” This unique staged reading blends historical fragments from the Rudolf Steiner Archive in Dornach with fictional elements, reimagining the story of a woman who stood in his shadow: Marie Steiner, née von Sivers.
Berlin, 1900: Rudolf Steiner, a radical thinker and bohemian, is newly married when he meets Marie von Sivers. Their encounter changes everything, setting him on the path to becoming the man we know today.
Was it truly like this? Perhaps. But the real question remains: How have men and their ideas shaped the world—and who were the women standing behind them, making it all possible?
