Marginal

In 2022, I created the short film Marginal. The film is driven by a powerful narrativ and dives into the pressing issue of street harassment. The serious tone of Marginal reflects the gravity of the subject matter, portraying a powerful narrative that invites viewers to reflect on how harassment shapes lives and perceptions.

After that shooting, Raphaël Attal, one of the main actors led us to take the story in an exciting new direction for a sequel, that would take a much different, even comedic approach to the topic.

Rather than continuing the heavy tone of the first film, we decided to create a parody. In a true act of collaboration, the lead actor and I decided to write the script for the second film together. This time, we embraced the freedom to be absurd, ironic, and exaggerated in our approach. The sequel would still address the issue of street harassment but through a lens of humor and satire and with an interesting plot twist. The film was shot across various stunning locations in Luxembourg and Belgium, including Louvain-la-Neuve.

The stark contrast between the two films makes for a fascinating cinematic journey, showcasing the versatility of the team involved.

The hard work that went into the making of both films is evident in every frame. From location scouting to final edits, we poured hours of effort into ensuring that the final product would captivate and engage viewers.
