“QUALIA! – Problem?”, directed by Alois Reinhardt, is a conceptual theatrical experiment exploring the depths of human nature. The performance centers around a group of individuals who, stripped of their memories, find themselves confined in a sterile, specially designed laboratory space. With no recollection of their identities or pasts, they are left to interact, respond, and rediscover themselves within this controlled environment.
The piece delves into fundamental questions of consciousness, perception, and behavior, asking: What remains when memory is erased? How do we relate to others without the framework of personal history?
Through its raw and often unsettling atmosphere, the work confronts us with the essence of human emotion and instinct — from conflict and confusion to empathy, connection, and the desire to understand.
In this production, I portrayed Katharina, a former spy and cat lover who has always dreamed of becoming a sculptor. Katharina’s character embodies a fascinating mix of vulnerability and strength. She grapples with her own fractured identity in a world where memories no longer anchor her existence. As she navigates this disorienting new reality, Katharina’s longing for self-expression and her struggle to define herself without the past make her a deeply compelling figure. Her journey underscores the universal human desire to reconnect, understand, and rebuild.
